Signs you’ve got this bug

  • Customers see “There are no shipping options available” at checkout.
  • Shipping costs are wrong: too cheap (you lose money) or far too expensive (customers leave).
  • Rates work for some towns or suburbs but not others.
  • Waybills aren’t created automatically, so you’re copying orders into the courier portal by hand.
  • Tracking numbers don’t reach the customer, so they message you asking “where’s my order?”

Why it happens

Most WooCommerce shipping plugins are built for overseas couriers. South African couriers need suburb-level addresses, correct parcel sizes and live rate lookups, and small gaps break the whole chain.

Common causes are missing product weights or dimensions (so the courier can’t quote), wrongly set up shipping zones, expired API credentials, a plugin that stopped working after a WooCommerce update, or checkout fields that don’t match what the courier expects.

How we fix it

  1. Connect your courier accountWe set up the integration with your Courier Guy account details and test live rate lookups.
  2. Fix your product and zone dataWeights, dimensions and shipping zones set correctly, so every order gets a real quote.
  3. Automate the boring partWhere possible, waybills are created from the order and tracking goes back to your customer.
  4. Test real addressesWe check rates and checkout across different cities, towns and suburbs before handing over.

Questions

Why does my checkout say there are no shipping options?

WooCommerce couldn’t get a rate for that address. Usually a product is missing its weight or size, the shipping zone doesn’t cover that area, or the courier connection has failed.

Can customers see live courier rates at checkout?

Yes. Once the integration is set up properly, rates are calculated from the parcel size and delivery address.

Can tracking be sent to customers automatically?

In most setups, yes. We’ll set it up so the tracking number reaches the customer without you copying it across.
